Roberto Speranza is the Minister of Health in the Government headed by Professor Mario Draghi. With the Prime Minister and the other Ministers, he swore in the hands of the President of the Republic by pronouncing the ritual formula on 13 February 2021.

He is in his second term as Health Minister, having held the same post in the second Government presided over by Professor Giuseppe Conte (from 5 September 2019 to 13 February 2021).

Minister Speranza was born in Potenza on January 4, 1979, graduated in Political Science, then he obtained a Doctorate in History of Mediterranean Europe.

In Potenza, where he began his political commitment to the Youth Left, he became a municipal councillor in 2004 and then city councillor. In the 2013 elections he was elected deputy in the Democratic Party (PD).

In February 2017 he left the Democratic Party and founded Article One – MDP. He was re-elected to the Chamber of Deputies in the elections of 4 March 2018 in the lists of Free and Equal.
