Gerardina Corona, Italian Carabinieri Major, began her military career by attending the Military Academy of Modena in 2001 and later completing her studies at the Carabinieri Officers School in Rome.
She obtained a degree in “Law” and has been appointed as institutional representative in multiple events related to the contribution of women in the professional field, among which “Women in Peace Operations” in the presence of the Canadian Minister of Defense in 2018, “Women in Defence and Security” organized by the British Embassy in Italy in 2018, and the “United Nations Protection of Civilian Course” attended in Belgrade in 2019.
Able to speak English and French, she held teaching functions at the Carabinieri Cadet School of Rome as well as institutional duties at the Investigation Unit of the Carabinieri Company in Rome San Pietro and Commander of the Carabinieri Companies of Sanremo and Varese.
Assigned to various staff positions, including those of Staff Officer and Head of the Regulation and Training Section of the Carabinieri Legion “Lombardy” in Milan and Staff Officer at the International Cooperation Office of the Carabinieri General Headquarters in Rome, she was also employed for the needs of the Office of Military Advisor of the President of the Council of Ministers.
Abroad she helped train the female component of the Iraqi Police Force and took part in the international TIPH-2 mission in Hebron.
She has been appointed Branch Chief at the Technological Development Office of the Carabinieri General Headquarters since 2020.
